L.F. Jennings and ING Continue Partnership on Metro Park Complex

Falls Church based L.F. Jennings, Inc. has been selected to construct Metro Park Building VII and an adjacent parking garage in the Metro Park Office Park. This will be the sixth office building constructed by L.F. Jennings in the 1,100,000 SF office park. Located at 6348 Walker Lane in Alexandria, Virginia the new building is convenient to the Franconia-Springfield Parkway.
The project consists of two structures including a 5 story 152,380 SF parking garage with a full basement and a 4 story Class A office building with full basement that will offer 95,685 SF of office space. Careful planning has ensured ample parking and uninterrupted access for tenants and visitors to the other office buildings in Metro Park Office Park.
Metro Park 7, LLC is the owner. The building is designed by Bignell Watkins Hasser for ING Clarion with the Evans Company representing the owner.
Metro Park 7, LLC is aiming to achieve a Gold Rating in LEED certification. According to Principal Architect, Adel Nur, “The Metro Park VII design theme is contextual and in line with the other buildings and parking structures that were completed in the earlier phases. The developer, architect and general contractor have planned for a LEED Gold rated building that is efficient, elegant and timeless.”
The contemporary exterior features a subtle palette of red and pastel rose colored brick. Low-E ribbon windows and curtainwalls are contrasted by the bold green accents of the sculptural sky-lit canopies and arches. The impressive interior will include 9 foot high ceilings and high tech wiring. A striking multi-story entrance lobby will highlight polished and flamed granite flooring, mahogany wood paneling, and gothic proportioned pilasters with coffered ceilings.
Construction of this project began December 8, 2009. The completion date is early February of 2011.
