We are seeking an Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our team through the maintenance of our rental fleet. This Heavy Equipment Mechanic role performs preventive maintenance in a clean modern shop, and makes repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet primarily includes general construction tools and diesel/gas equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes quality and efficiency standards
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all fleet equipment and trucks
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services
• Recondition and replace assorted parts of small tools, heavy equipment, and Fleet Trucks
• Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner

Professional Experience

• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment
• Computer skills to support entering information into systems
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
• Dependability

• Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment
• Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Attention to detail
• Understanding the importance of time management
